What It Is

The Book a Librarian service is an opportunity to receive individual, focused assistance from a professional librarian in a scheduled 30-minute appointment, with a maximum of two per month.

Eligibility

You must be an adult with a Carrollton Public Library card that is:

  • not expired
  • under $10 in fees

  • Research product reviews
  • Learn to download eBooks and eAudiobooks to your digital device
  • Explore job search resources
  • Research assistance
  • Search your family tree with library resources
  • Explore health and medical resources
  • Library orientation, including a tour of the library and our website
  • Discover effective ways to create topical, age-appropriate book lists
  • Find a good read, for you or your book group

Limits

The following are beyond the scope of our service and best addressed by experts in the related field:

Scheduling an Appointment

The service is currently available:

  • Monday - Wednesday, 10am – 7pm
  • Must be booked at least 4 days in advance
  • Appointments are not final until you have confirmation from a librarian.
  • You will be contacted within 2 business days to confirm your appointment.
  • Staff assigned to your appointment will be based on availability and expertise.
