Peters Colony Historical Society Meeting

Peters Colony Historical Society has worked since 1971 to preserve the history of the Peters Colony settlers of Dallas County and the surrounding area. Each meeting features a guest speaker.

This Month's Topic: Ye Olde Roads presented by Robin Cole-Jett

Robin will use maps to explore the former transportation routes and how they evolved or devolved. Using images from the Library of Congress, the Texas General Land office, Stanford University, and other libraries and archives, she will take participants on a journey to uncover the history of the old roads in North Texas, the Red River, and specifically Denton County.

Known as the Red River Historian, Cole-Jett has researched, documented, and shared the history of the Red River Valley for over 20 years through her books and presentations.

Voting for Peters Colony Historical Society officers for the 2023-2024 year will also occur.
