Carrollton Fire Rescue utilizes the American Heart Association’s CPR training curriculum, and has established the Emergency Medical Education Training Center to deliver courses. 

Our goal is to make CPR training available and affordable to all businesses and residents of not only Carrollton but all of the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. Listed below is information regarding the different types of CPR classes that are offered.

  • Adult & Child CPR / AED
    Teaches CPR and relief of choking for adults and children. For CPR purposes "adult" is defined as anyone with signs of puberty; a "child" is anyone over the age of 1 with no signs of publerty. One will also learn to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) on both adults and children. This class takes approximately 4 hours to complete, and includes a skills test. You will receive a Heartsaver CPR card with completion of the course. 
  • Infant CPR
    Teaches CPR and relief of choking for infants. For CPR purposes "infant" is defined as someone less than one year of age. This class takes approximately 2 hour to complete, and includes a skills test. You will receive a Heartsaver Pediatric CPR card with completion of the course. 

  • First Aid
    Teaches one how to manage illness and injuries in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. Course content includes general principles, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies. This class takes approximately 3 hours to complete. You will receive a Heartsaver First Aid card with the completion of the course. For First Aid purposes "Adult" is defined as anyone showing signs of puberty.  

  • Adult & Child CPR, AED, & First Aid
    Combines all of the above listed courses. This class takes approximately 8 hours to complete and includes a skills test. You will receive a Heartsaver Adult/Child CPR, AED, & First Aid card with completion of course. 

  • Health Care Providers
    Classes are offered for individuals seeking renewal of their Health Care Provider CPR certification. Must have a minimum of 6 individuals to hold a class.
