When is my recycling collection day?

Recyclables are collected from blue roll-out recycling carts on regular trash collection days every other week according to the Residential Recycling Schedule (see below).

  • When to Put Carts Out:
City ordinance requires residential waste to be out at the designated collection location (alley or street) no earlier than 6 p.m. of the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day.

  • When to Remove Carts:
Remove bins from curbside no later than 9 a.m. the day following collection.

  • Know the Code:
Residents who do not remove containers after collection are violating City Ordinances. Report suspected code violations to 972-466-3060.

Holiday Schedule: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day collections will be delayed by one day.

Missed Collection?

Sometimes recycling can't be collected because containers were blocked, were set out incorrectly, or were contaminated with non-recyclables.

Check Cart Service Guidelines below to make sure your bin was set out correctly.

If your recycling was missed (and not because it was set out incorrectly),  fill out a missed collections form or call 972-466-4950.

  • cleaning-plastic-bottle-min

Keep all recyclables free of food and liquid. One dirty item can contaminate an entire truckload.

  • woman-recycling-outdoors-bin-container-min
