Branch of Service: U.S. Army Air Corps; 1938-1943 (WWII)

Class: Staff Sergeant

Military Occupation: Electrician

Service History, Stateside or Abroad: 1938 Basic training at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, TX. Thereafter, I departed for Hawaii for a short time and then to Canton Island pass the equator. We were taken from the ship and set up shop. I worked for sometime there before going to Guam. We were the 321 Depot Repair Group. We made repairs on ships and aircrafts. At Guam, we were not the only personnel there. There were also Japanese as well. I am 91 years old and can’t recall a lot about the war. However, I enjoyed being in the Army Air Corp. I was discharged in 1943 and returned to Arkansas.

Commendations & Honors: Good Conduct Medal, WWII medals

Present Location: Carrollton TX. I worked and resided in Dallas/Carrollton. I am now a resident of the Atria Retirement/Assisted Living, Carrollton.
