The Neighborhood leadership award is designed to recognize adults in the Carrollton community who have taken a proactive role in addressing the needs of Carrollton residents.

Examples of volunteer efforts are beautification projects, outstanding board leadership or accountability, youth projects, church community outreach projects, crime watch, inter-cultural projects, and social causes. 

Nominees can serve neighborhood associations, churches, non-profits, PTAs, or any other self-organizing group that serves the City of Carrollton. Their efforts must have contributed outstanding service tot heir community.  

Selection

1. Nominees should be at least 18 years of age.  

2. Award selections are based on the nominee’s volunteer efforts and commitment of time, accomplishments, community impact and enhancement of the lives of others, as described on the nomination form.

3. Nominee must have been active in the 2024 calendar year.

4. The Commission selects recipients of the awards based on the selection criteria.

5. Recipients of the awards are selected based on merit – without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or physical/mental disability.

The Outstanding Community Organization Award is designed to recognize active organizations giving back to the Carrollton community. Nominees can be an organization, team, or non-profit. Types of organizations eligible for nomination include neighborhood associations, non-profits, PTAs, religious houses of worship, youth groups, or any other self-organized group.   

Selection

1. Organizations must be composed of three or more members and have pre-defined goals and utilize strategy to reach a successful completion.  

2. Award selections are based on the nominee’s volunteer efforts and commitment of time, accomplishments, community impact and enhancement of the lives of others, as described on the nomination form.

3. The service must be in Carrollton or benefit the residents of Carrollton.

4. The Commission selects recipients of the awards based on the selection criteria.

5. Recipients of the awards are selected based on merit – without regard to race, religion, gender, national origin, or physical/mental disability.

The Carrollton Volunteer of the Year Award is for distinguished service to a City of Carrollton department, program, or social service organization that services the City of Carrollton community. Nominees must volunteered in the 2024 calendar year. Examples are Boards and Commissions, Citizen Patrol, Animal Care, Library, religious houses of worship, or social service organizations who benefit the City of Carrollton.  

Selection

1. Nominees must be 18 years of age and older 

2. Nominee must be engaged in volunteer activities with a City of Carrollton Department or Social Service Organization serving the Carrollton Community in 2024. 

3. Award selections are based on the nominee's volunteer efforts and commitment of time, accomplishments, community impact, and enhancement of the lives of others, as described on the nomination form. 

4. Volunteers must have served for a minimum of one year.

The Carrollton Youth Volunteer of the Year Award is for distinguished service to a City of Carrollton department, program, school program, or social service organization that serve the City of Carrollton community. Nominees must have served within the 2024 calendar year.
