The City of Carrollton is seeking local artists to paint inlets in Downtown! This contest is being held to promote awareness of stormwater pollution prevention and the role it plays in keeping our waters clean and safe.

Many people are not aware that our storm drain system discharges directly to surface waters; when it rains, the waters flow into the streets and can pick up pollutants around the storm drains. Pollutants such as sediment, trash and litter, oil or vehicle fluids end up in our storm sewer system which discharges directly into creeks and surface water throughout the city - most of which flows into the Elm Fork of the Trinity River!

Our project is looking for designs which convey positive messages about preventing stormwater pollution and our connection to the environment in which we live. Selected artists will have the opportunity to paint their design in Downtown Carrollton with all materials provided. Artist biography will be featured on the City website and artwork will be visible in a highly public location for years!
