Carrollton requires that for all water wells to be drilled, repaired or plugged within the city, that the owner obtain a permit.  A permit application must be submitted to Environmental Services prior to the issuance of any permit.  There is no fee.   You may contact the office at (972) 466-3060 with any questions.

Regulations regarding water wells are contained in chapters 156 and 176 of the Carrollton Code of Ordinances.  The State of Texas has further requirements in 16 TAC Chapter 76.
