On June 18, a run-off election was held for City Council Places 2 & 4, and voters elected new Councilmembers Anthony Wilder and Bob Garza respectively. All results are unofficial, until canvassed. The City Council has selected Councilmembers Lisa Sutter as Mayor Pro Tem and Jeff Andonian as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem. This provides a leadership structure in event of emergencies or scheduling conflicts. They will serve for a one-year term.

The City of Carrollton is excited to announce that a $1.5 million redevelopment project is taking place at the southeast corner of Belt Line Road and Josey Lane. The owner of this 53-year old shopping center, Sheritru Partners, has received a Retail Redevelopment and Rehabilitation Grant from the City of Carrollton not to exceed $168,000. Since its inception in 2007, three grants totalling about $900,000 have been awarded, resulting in private investments of about $6 million.
