The Festival at the Switchyard is a free family-fun event that honors the critical role the railroad played in putting Carrollton on the map and the continuing importance of rail in Carrollton’s present and future.
Bring the whole family to enjoy free concerts featuring nationally known headliners, as well as free rides and games and free children’s entertainment. Grab a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors or Downtown restaurants, take a break in the beer garden, shop unique craft booths, visit with our sponsors, and browse through the variety of eclectic Downtown shops.

The City of Carrollton, in partnership with community-wide schools, presents a Student Art Show at Crosby Recreation Center featuring the works of students from:
- Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District (CFBISD)
- Harmony Science Academy - Carrollton
- Lewisville ISD
Exhibition Opening: May 2025.
Art will be on display through August 2025 at the Crosby Recreation Centers.

Use the clues to search for our beloved critters up and down Broadway and over off Main Street between Belt Line and Vandergriff. Open to novice or experienced painters of all ages, groups, or organizations. Trash cans are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Space is limited. The City of Carrollton reserves the right to reject any designs. |

What does the City provide? The City of Carrollton will provide a trash can already primed with a white base coat and will apply an outdoor topcoat on each can. Participants will be responsible for their own paint colors, brushes, and tape needed to create their trash can design. Is there a cost? There will be a $25 deposit that is refunded when the completed trash can is returned and approved by the City of Carrollton. All designs must be pre-approved before work begins. Where do I register and pay the trash can deposit? Register online at www.cityofcarrollton.com/signupnow or stop by Rosemeade or Crosby Recreation Center. How do I get my design pre-approved? After registering, an agreement form will be emailed to you. Complete and email it to Kyla Pruitt. A brief description of your planned artwork will be required before picking up your trash can. How many trash cans are available? There are 16 trash cans available. Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. What type of paint should be used? Acrylic paints will work best on this kind of surface. Can all ages participate? All ages, groups, and organizations are welcome to participate. |

In 2023, artists submitted designs for Carrollton's inaugural Storm Drain Art Contest that fit themes of preventing stormwater pollution, maintaining safe drinking water sources or water conservation, and protecting natural habitats. The seven winning artists painted their eye-catching designs on storm drain inlets in Downtown Carrollton in March 2024 to raise awareness about stormwater pollution and contribute to the City's art community.
