1943 – joined the National Guard and took Basic training before going overseas. The early part of the war, I was transferred to Ireland. I retired from the military in 1963. I am proud to have served my country. I returned home to Council Bluff, Iowa and worked as an Instructor for ROTC. Also, I worked for the University of California as an Instructor for ROTC.
Honors & Commendations: Good Conduct Medal; 4 Purple Hearts
