Background and Education
Councilmember Nancy Cline is a native Texan and a resident of Carrollton since 1998. She grew up in Port Arthur and attended Texas A&M University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1984) and a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering (1986). She has been a licensed professional engineer since 1990 and is a member of the National Society of Professional Engineers. Nancy is also a Certified Floodplain Manager through Texas Floodplain Managers Association. (TFMA) She is also a graduate of Leadership Metrocrest, Class 2001-2002 and Leadership TASB (Texas Association of School Boards) Class of 2019.
Public Service
Councilmember Cline was elected to the City Council in June 2021. Her election to office came after serving in various volunteer roles in the community. She served on the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD Board of Trustees from 2005-2020, including four years as President. Nancy served on various committees of the CBISD Board for several years including the Audit committee and the Naming Committee. Before serving on the Board, she was the Elementary Chair of the 2003 Bond Committee. Nancy served in various PTA officer positions for Kent Elementary and Blalack Middle School and was awarded the PTA Life Member Award from Blalack Middle School.
Professional and Personal
Councilmember Cline is a Vice President at JMT. She served on the North Central Texas Council of Governments Surface Transportation Technical Committee from 2005-2014 and was Chair from 2012-2013. She is a Fellow and past President of the Texas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) and served as Region 6 Director on the ASCE Board from 2016-2019 representing Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Mexico. She continues to serve the ASCE community at the local and global level. Nancy has been married to her husband Jim for 35 years and they have two sons and one daughter who all graduated from Texas A&M University.
