Background and Education
Jason Carpenter has been in North Texas since 1984 when his family moved here. He attended the University of North Texas where he received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting.
Public Service
Councilmember Carpenter was elected to the City Council of Carrollton in May, 2023. He has served as chair of the Planning and Zoning Commission, chair of the Traffic Advisory Committee, a member of the Charter Review Committee, and as a member of the Capital Improvements Plan Advisory Committee. He is also a graduate of the Carrollton Citizens’ Police Academy (#55).
Professional and Personal
Jason and his wife, Amy, have been residents of Carrollton for over 16 years and met in Carrollton in 1989 while working through college. They have been married since 1994 and have raised two adult children. Jason and his wife are active members of First Baptist Church at the Fields.
Jason works for Lexia, an educational software company, as a Director of Technology where he has the privilege of working with a team of passionate educators and engineers committed to seeing technology transform learning for students and teachers alike. Jason’s teams are responsible for software development, deployment and maintenance of the company’s best selling software.
