The Adopt-A-Spot program is a great opportunity for organizations, families, businesses, churches, and individuals to work together for a two year clean up project! Groups are given an area to adopt for two years, during this time they will clean their area at least quarterly to help improve our waterways and green areas!
The Waterway Clean-up Project is a great way to get outside and improve your local waterways! The city will provide volunteers with clean up materials to remove trash from waterways in Carrollton.
The Storm Drain Marking Project helps spread the word that "only rain goes down the storm drain"! Volunteers will place storm drain markers on inlets in Carrollton. These storm drain markers remind us not to dump and that these drains go to our local waterways!

Turn Your Daily Jog Into a Plog!
What is plogging? It’s a new workout trend to get in shape and care for the environment at the same time.
Plogging originated in Sweden as a popular new way to exercise and save the planet at the same time. It involves jogging and picking up trash along the way and is a combination of the word for jogging and the Swedish word for “pick up,” which is plocka upp — hence “plogging.” Plogging is good for you and good for the environment. The concept sounds silly, but picking up just one piece of trash on a daily or weekly jog will make a tremendous impact on Carrollton’s waterways. Trash left in the environment will eventually find its way into Carrollton’s waterways, which actually flow to the Gulf of Mexico.
Trinity River Paddling Trail Clean-up
Did you know that the Trinity River is a National Paddling Trail?
Visit trinitycoalition.org to find where you can port kayaks and start your own paddling trail cleanup! All of Carrollton's waterways lead to the Trinity River, which results in Carrollton's trash that escaped into our waterways traveling here.
