Air Quality

Currently, the Dallas/Ft Worth metroplex is in a air quality non-attainment region. This means that air pollution levels in the region persistently exceed national air quality standards set by the Environmental Protection Agency.  Do your part in helping to keep the air clean for everyone.  Replace old vehicles that don't meet emission standards and report smoking vehicles to the NCTCOG website.

Easy Ways to Improve Air Quality by Reducing your Energy Footprint

Carpool or vanpool
Use mass transit - DART, DTCA
Bike or walk
Work from home
Take lunch to work or summer activities
Observe speed limits
Avoid idling
Combine trips or drive less
Use technology such as teleconferencing or video conferencing to reduce vehicle trips for meetings
Report smoking, polluting vehicles (#SMOKE)
Maintain vehicles by getting them inspected and keeping tires properly inflated
Switch to compact fluorescent light bulbs
Don't top off the gas tank

Get fuel when it's cooler
