General Information

Normal maintenance, including adding refrigerant, does not require a permit.

A permit is needed when any part is repaired or replaced, whether on the inside or outside unit.

State law allows a homeowner to perform HVAC work on their homestead. However, any other person performing this work must be a licensed air conditioning and refrigeration contractor, registered as a contractor with the City of Carrollton.

Inspections

An inspection needs to be scheduled upon completion of work.
