The summer Movie on the Square series continues on Saturday, July 8 in Downtown Carrollton (1106 S. Broadway Street) with an out-of-this-world screening of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), PG-13.
When brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe, he is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon; Groot, a tree-like humanoid; the deadly and enigmatic Gamora; and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
The movie will begin at sunset. Kids won’t want to miss the chance to save the day with a superhero cape giveaway beginning at 8 p.m. while supplies last.
Don’t forget lawn chairs and blankets for seating. Coolers are permitted and bug spray is encouraged. Friendly canine companions and service dogs are welcome to join their people as long as they are on a leash and they’re cleaned up after. In case of rain, the showing will be cancelled.
