The Carrollton Police Department will coordinate with the Drug Enforcement Administration in a collaborative effort focused on removing potentially dangerous controlled substances from our nation’s medicine cabinets. A national take-back day provides a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for destruction. This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical controlled substance abuse. The program provides an opportunity for law enforcement to collaborate and establish a safe collection site for all Americans, regardless of where they reside. Controlled, non-controlled, and over the counter substances may be deposited directly into the disposal box. This program is anonymous and free to the public. For questions regarding this event contact Officer Nault at 972-466-4786 or by email at joseph.nault@cityofcarrollton.com. Intra-venous solutions, injectibles and syringes will not be accepted at the Carrollton Police Department drop off location due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
