The Fallen Soldiers of Denton County Memorial will be on display at the Carrollton City Hall (1945 E. Jackson Road) daily, November 10-24. The Denton County Memorial is a tribute specifically to the Fallen Soldiers of Denton County. All fallen soldiers are from the Iraq and Afghanistan Theater.
Started in 2007 as a small personal project of Vietnam Veteran Monty Slough, the display is intended to memorialize the brave soldiers of Denton County, Texas. This most recently includes Carrollton resident Army Sgt. Carlos A. Benitez, killed in action in Afghanistan on October 14, 2010.
The Memorial can be viewed during regular City Hall hours: 7:30 am-5:30 p.m. Monday - Thursday, and 7:30-11:30 a.m. on Friday. For more information, visit the Fallen Soldiers Memorial website at www.dentoncountyfallensoldiers.com.
