Join us as we celebrate our outstanding Black Americans that helped build our City of Carrollton. As a service to our community, we will clean up the Carrollton Black Cemetery. Bring your paintbrushes, rakes, large garbage bags, weed eaters, shovels, etc. Please bring a lawn chair for sitting.
There will be a Juneteeth Reflection Program at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served following the clean-up near the church.
Directions: from 35 north or south exit Belt Line Road, go west on Belt Line Road, look for the North Church and park in the back (the cemetery is located at the back)
Please call Rev. Willie Rainwater at 972-242-0933 for additional information.
Carrolltonians were buried in the cemetery between 1800-1960. Although dating back more than 100 years, the cemetery was not formally dedicated until 1915. Despite periodic flooding, several gravestones are still visible.
