Celebrate Mother's Day with family and friends on the Museum grounds and beautiful Pearl Perry Gravley Park while listening to the Downtown String Band play bluegrass, traditional acoustic, and swing music form the front porch of the historic home. They will have your toes tapping and the kids dancing along with the fiddle and banjo! Bring a picnic basket, blankets, and lawn chairs. Free ice cream and lemonade will be served, and children can make a card and an old-fashioned handmade gift for mom. Create a theme for your picnic and enter the annual Mother's Day Picnic contest in one of three categories: Best Family, Most Elegant, or Most Creative. Registration for the contest begins at 5 pm and judging takes place at 5:45 pm with winners announced and prizes awarded at the beginning of the concert.
