Bring back a bit of traditional do-it-yourself know how, resourcefulness, and simplicity into your busy modern life. Topics to explore will include urban chickens, keeping bees, raised bed and community gardening, and food preservation. We'll have local experts on hand to answer questions and share their experiences. Want to start simple? We'll have a make-and-take station for creating your own natural cleaning supplies using tried and true methods and basic ingredients. A petting zoo and children's arts and crafts area will be available to keep the little ones busy. Staff of the Dallas County Texas A&M AgrilLife Extension Service will present workshops and demonstrations on what to plant in raised bed gardens, urban chickens, and food preservation. These workshops require pre-registration by April 13. Registration not required for other activities.
