Selma chronicles Martin Luther King Jr’s campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama, in 1965. Fueled by the gripping performance of David Oyelowo, Selma draws inspiration from the life and death of Martin Luther King, Jr., but doesn’t ignore how far we remain from the ideals his work embodied.
