Learn about Texas history in a fun environment with lots of hands-on experiences. See an 1870s chuck wagon and visit with Smokey, the cook, or the fur-trapper with his pelts. Step into a pioneer-style tent where costumed volunteers will be demonstrating life skills such as spinning and weaving. Help with chores such as the laundry, butter churning and corn griding, or play with the pioneer toys. Designed for Scouts, but open to the public; all ages are invited.
Participation in the make-and-take crafts requires pre-registration. This is a come-and-go event; however, not all activities will be available all day. Fee is $10 per child, accompanying adults are free. For details and registration, contact Kathy Ogle via email at Kathy.ogle@swbell.net or by phone at 214-906-5792.
