Carrollton Black History Program - CANCELLED
Join us as we unite with the Metrocrest Cities and Carrollton Farmers-Branch ISD in celebration of the outstanding contributions of the Black Trailblazers of America. African Americans have lived in the area since the 1800s, before Carrollton and Farmers Branch were cities. During this time, Rufus and Betty Heads, the Rainwaters, and other black families lived on Keller Springs Road. The land where Addison Airport now stands was owned by black farmers. Everyone in the community is invited to the event to enjoy speechs, songs, and skits celebrating the rich African American heritage in Addison, Carrollton, Farmers Branch, and Coppell. The free program will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, February 28 at Ted Polk Middle School (2001 Kelly Boulevard). Sponsored by Kids First and Christ Community Connection.
