The Cardboard Boat Regatta challenges amateur boat builders to design, build and navigate boats made entirely of corrugated cardboard. Come and enjoy the fun as you watch the masterful maneuvers of boats braving the waves at 9 a.m. Saturday, August 2 at Rosemeade Rainforest Aquatic Complex (1334 E. Rosemeade Parkway). Scouts, clubs, organizations and families are encouraged to participate. Prizes will be awarded by categories of age and creativity.
If you are interested in participating in the event, send an email including a team name, name and age of team members and contact information to cathysphr@verizon.net to register. Registration is free; you must register prior to the event to participate.
Please email us for a copy of the rules. The most important rule is that cardboard CANNOT be coated with any kind of paint or polyurethane products. You cannot use glue or other products that have chemicals that can affect the pool water. DUCT Tape is high encouraged, but cannot be taped over the entire box.
