The City of Carrollton will be participating in the American Water Works Association’s (AWWA) Drinking Water Week, May 4-10. This year’s theme, “Getting to Know Your H20”, educates the community about the critical role water plays in our everyday lives, with special attention to the ways all consumers can get to know their water.
“Drinking Water Week is a great opportunity to take time to realize how integral safe drinking water is to our everyday lives,” said AWWA Executive Director David LaFrance. “Now is the time to understand the roles we play in caring for our precious water supplies and systems to guarantee we have safe drinking water for generations to come.”
For more than 35 years, AWWA and its members have celebrated Drinking Water Week – a unique opportunity for both water professionals and the communities they serve to join together to recognize the importance of water.
To commemorate the occasion, the City of Carrollton will provide important drinking water information at cityofcarrollton.com/water. Children’s activity sheets about the water cycle will be available at Carrollton libraries and recreation centers, as well as posters with facts about drinking water that will be displayed throughout City Facilities.
