Carrollton Municipal Court does not provide payment plans for paying judgments (fines). Judgments must be paid on or before the due date.

Non-payment or insufficient payment may result in a warrant being issued for your arrest.*

What if I'm unable to pay?

If you are financially unable to pay your fine in full, you must qualify for any additional time to pay.

  • You will be required to complete a lengthy financial application and you must be interviewed by a Collection Specialist.

    • Be aware that this process will include verification of your current address, phone number(s), source of income, and place of employment.

    • Be prepared to spend approximately 45 minutes on this application and interview process.

If you are found to be indigent, you may qualify for alternative payment options.

Can I get an extension on my payment?

Yes, you can Request a 10 Day Extension for some citations.

A 10 Day extension is NOT a payment plan. Rules and restrictions apply. Please read the instructions carefully before submitting a request for an extension.

IMPORTANT:

  • If you choose to get a 10 Day Extension you will NOT be eligible to take the Driving Safety Course.

  • Do not request an extension if you are seeking a dismissal because obtaining the extension will cause you to be ineligible for the dismissal even if you correct the problem.
What happens if I don't pay?

Failure to pay your citation on or before the response date on the front of the citation will result in:

  1. A warrant being issued for your arrest and the fine amount will be the maximum allowed by law PLUS Court costs and fees.

  2. A request to the Texas Department of Public Safety for the denial of driver license renewal.

  3. If a warrant for your arrest is issued, you will be subject to arrest at your home, place of business or wherever you may be found.

A telephone call does not constitute a response. Inability to pay this fine is not an excuse for failure to answer. Fine payment extensions may be granted at the time of appearance.

In a Hurry?
If you choose to plead guilty or no contest and simply want to pay your fine, get a receipt and go, there is a convenient 24-hour payment kiosk located outside the court's main entrance.

Credit cards are accepted.

Notice: A 2% service fee is added to credit/debit card payments.
