The Criminal Investigation Division of the Police Department is comprised of five different sections and is primarily responsible for ongoing criminal investigations, crime scene investigations, and crime victim services. Commander John Singleton manages the Criminal Investigative Division: john.singleton@cityofcarrollton.com

Criminal Investigation Division Sections: 


CRIMES AGAINST PERSONS SECTION 

This section is responsible for investigating homicides, family violence, assaults, threats, robberies, and other violent crimes or crimes against a person. Sergeant Clayton Smith supervises the detectives assigned to this section: clayton.smith@cityofcarrollton.com

SEX OFFENDER APPREHENSION AND REGISTRATION SECTION 

This section is responsible for registering and monitoring sex offenders living in the city as well as the apprehension of sex offenders who are in violation of state registration requirements or other offenses. Detective Jayson Kaiser is the main point of contact for this section: jayson.kaiser@cityofcarrollton.com

PROPERTY CRIMES SECTION

This section is responsible for investigating business and residential burglaries and thefts, car thefts, and car burglaries. Sergeant John Martin supervises the detectives assigned to this section: john.martin@cityofcarrollton.com

FINANCIAL CRIMES SECTION

This section is responsible for investigating crimes involving forgery, identity theft, credit card abuse, embezzlement, and other fraud or financially based crimes. Sergeant Richard Giesemann  supervises the detectives assigned to this section: richard.giesemann@cityofcarrollton.com

SPECIAL VICTIMS SECTION

This section is responsible for investigating physical crimes and abuse involving children, missing children, and child trafficking. Sergeant Richard Giesemann  supervises the detectives assigned to this section: richard.giesemann@cityofcarrollton.com
