    City Manager Leonard Martin has announced the selection of Rex Redden as the next Police Chief for the Carrollton Police Department, with a start date of April 19, 2010. Redden has over 20 years of law enforcement experience, serving the last six years as Assistant Chief of Police in McKinney, Texas.

    City Responds To Civil Rights Lawsuit

    Recently the City of Carrollton learned that a lawsuit had been filed against the City and one police officer regarding an incident that occurred in February of 2009. The Carrollton Police Department takes use of force and employee misconduct allegations very seriously and the allegations made in the complaint were investigated thoroughly at the time. With litigation pending, the City of Carrollton cannot comment on this specific case at this time. The City believes the claims asserted in the lawsuit are meritless, and looks forward to its day in Court. Of course, the City’s pleadings, once filed, will be part of the public record, available for anyone to read. The City will vigorously defend this lawsuit.
