On September 18, 2012, the City Council adopted the budget and property tax rate for the fiscal year October 1, 2012 to September 30, 2013. The total tax rate adopted of $0.617875 per $100 of valuation is the same rate as the prior year. However, the portion of the tax rate allocated to maintenance and operation was effectively increased as defined by the Texas Property Tax Code.
THE CITY OF CARROLLTON ADOPTED A TAX RATE THAT WILL RAISE MORE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS THAN LAST YEAR'S TAX RATE. THE TAX RATE WILL EFFECTIVELY BE RAISED BY 4 PERCENT AND WILL RAISE TAXES FOR MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS ON A $100,000 HOME BY APPROXIMATELY $12.62.
