Carrollton, TX –Monday, September 17 will mark the beginning of a new digital chapter for the
Axis 360 provides Library users with a state-of-the-art system for selecting and checking out eBooks from the dynamic "Magic Wall". Patrons can also discover eBooks using the online Library catalog, which will link directly to eBook titles. Both of these methods are available from home and from within the Library.
Patrons at the Carrollton Public Library will enjoy the enhanced presentation of over 600 popular adult fiction and non-fiction titles, based on a Library user survey that showed these eBooks are of highest interest to the community. The titles can be downloaded onto many popular devices, including iOS, Android and Windows PCs, tablets and smartphones. The eBooks are read using Blio, the ground-breaking eReading software that provides enhanced displays of photographs and other images, and offers an ADA-compatible interface for the visually-impaired.
One additional advantage of Axis 360 is that it uses a cloud-based model to store the user’s books. When a book is checked out, the user can read it from up to 5 devices, such as their home PC, their smartphone, and their workstation at work. Library patrons will be able to connect to their eBooks 24 hours a day.
