Local Artists John Wehlage, Thunder Road, and Dallas Tap Dazzlers Added to Carrollton’s Festival at the Switchyard Lineup
Carrollton, TX – Local artists John Wehlage, Thunder Road, and the Dallas Tap Dazzlers join previously announced Sister Hazel and headliner Lifehouse as part of the 3rd Annual 2012 Festival at the Switchyard talent lineup. The Festival at the Switchyard, a free family-friendly event, will be held Saturday, November 3 from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m., and will feature entertainment for all ages.
Wehlage, who will return to the Festival this year, will play a new take on old favorites. His eclectic style is influenced by the likes of Lyle Lovett and is self-described as blues and Americana.
Thunder Road, a Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band tribute group, includes members all from the North Central Texas region, the majority from Carrollton, that came together from a variety of backgrounds to pay tribute to the incredible storytelling delivered via the rock and roll music that has made Springsteen a worldwide live concert legend.
The Dallas Tap Dazzlers is a group of jazz-tap dancers for seniors that has performed throughout the State of Texas. More than your typical senior dance group, each routine is performed in dazzling costumes and full of high energy kicks and fun. The Dazzlers have established a reputation as one of the most entertaining and recognizable groups in the Metroplex, and with several Regional and National Championship titles won, the ladies are sure to entertain while proving that age is only a number.
The Festival will be held on the streets of Historic Downtown Carrollton, just east of I-35 on the south side of Belt Line Road, mid-way between the George Bush Turnpike and LBJ Freeway. In addition to the exciting concerts, there will be arts and crafts, great food and beverages, live entertainment, interactive games, and free activities for children of all ages, including Booger Wars and a Bungee Trampoline.
Visit the Festival at the Switchyard website at carrolltonfestival.com for entertainment and vendor updates. Discounts will be offered to vendor applications received prior to September 15; early bird prices start as low as $75 for non-profit groups and $150 for all others.
