Am I eligible to get a Carrollton Public Library card?
All Texas residents are eligible for Carrollton Public Library cards. You must be at least 18 years old and have one of the following items with you as proof of residency at your current address:
Apply online and then bring your photo ID with proof of address to the Front Desk of either library.
Can my child get a library card?
Parents can apply for a library card for a child under 18. Parents are responsible for all materials checked out and late fines on the child's card.

For the first 6 months you may check out 5 items at a time.
How do I renew my library card?
New Library cards are issued for a period of six months. After six months, if your ID is a Texas Driver License or ID, then your account will be changed to full privileges and your card renewed for a year. If you do not have a Texas Driver License or ID, then your card is renewed for 6 months with a borrowing limit of 5 items.
Full privilege cards will be renewed automatically for another year if:
You must renew your card in person if your card expires and is not eligible for automatic renewal. Bring a valid Texas Driver License or ID to any service desk, and we will renew your card for another year.
I lost my library card. How do I report this?
Report lost library cards immediately. Call the library at 972-466-4800 or submit a library account feedback online. There is a $1.00 fee to replace a lost card.
