Single Stream Recycling Video

Residential Recycling Video

Recycle more - it's easy! Head straight for the blue cart - there is no need to presort items or place them in plastic bags (except shredded paper, which should be placed in a CLEAR plastic bag). Make sure the cart lid will close, and roll the cart to the designated pick up spot (curb or alley) on recycling day for convenient service.

Recyclables are collected from blue roll-out recycling carts* on regular trash collection days every other week according to the 2015 Recycling Calendar.

*Carts are not available for apartments. Approximately 25% of Carrollton residents live in apartments; however, the majority of the existing apartment complexes were constructed without consideration for recycling. Each location has logistical obstacles that need to be addressed.

The City of Carrollton entered a new solid waste contract with Waste Management as of October 1, 2010. Waste Management is required by the contract to make recycling services available in Carrollton to single family, apartment and City facility properties, however there is not a requirement or mandate to compel the property owners, occupants or tenants of any of those various property uses to recycle.  Upon request, Waste Management provides pricing options to apartment complexes in order to encourage apartments to promote recycling options.  Waste Management does offer recycling programs to apartment management for the entire complex based on needs and logistics. If interested, apartment managers may call Waste Management Customer Service at 972-315-5400, to receive an individualized program and quote.
