*Announcing a Change in Holiday Service As of October 1, 2015*

Due to feedback received that citizens prefer collections not be made on holidays, the collection calendar has been adjusted to accommodate. Collections normally scheduled for the Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day holidays will now be picked up the following day and collections for remaining days in the week will be delayed by one day through Saturday.

Have questions regarding residential solid waste service?

The City will now be taking over all customer calls regarding solid waste. Call 972-466-4950 with residential solid waste and recycling questions.

Placement for safe, efficient collection:

Place trash carts, recycling carts and other bulk waste in designated collection area at least 3 feet away from each other, mailboxes, gas meters, fences, parked cars, overhead obstacles and other items.

According to City Ordinance, residential waste must be placed at the location designated by the City (alley or street) no earlier than 6 p.m. of the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day. Do not block or impede a street or alley right-of-way, water or gas meter, drainage ditch, or sight triangle at an intersection or sidewalk. Improperly placed or blocked waste will not be collected.

Containers must be removed from the alley or street no later than 9 a.m. the day following collection. Residents who do not remove containers after collection are violating City Ordinances. Please report suspected code violations to Community Services at 972-466-3060.

Non-Single Family Housing & Services

Commercial Service 
The City of Carrollton does not provide trash or recycling collection services to commercial customers.
Check Dallas-area yellow page listings under "Trash Hauling" for local providers.

Apartment Service
Apartment facilities are required by City ordinance to use City-provided trash collection service. The City of Carrollton has contracted with Waste Management for this service. Recycling is included with the monthly charges. To set up recycling or trash services, please contact the City at 972-466-4950.

The term "apartment" is based on a City ordinance definition of "dwelling unit" and includes some assisted residences.

As the Christmas holiday draws near, it is important to remember that Christmas lights cannot be recycled through Waste Management, but should be recycled if possible. There are centers that do recycle the lights and provide alternatives to trashing non-working strands.
Trash and recycling collections regularly scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 26 will be picked up the following day on Friday, Nov. 27. Collections for remaining days in the week will be delayed by one day through Saturday.
Stop by the City of Carrollton Central Service Center from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 30 or Dec. 1 to properly dispose of grease and cooking oil for free.
Various Carrollton City facilities will be closed Thursday, November 26 and Friday, November 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Trash and recycling pick-up normally collected on Thursday will now be picked up the following day.
Stop by the City of Carrollton Central Service Center (2711 Nimitz Lane) from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, November 30 or Tuesday, December 1 to properly dispose of grease and cooking oil for free.
