The City of Carrollton contracts residential (households only) solid waste collection with Waste Management. The following disposal options are available:

*Announcing a Change in Holiday Service After October 1, 2010*
Previous to October 1, 2010, collections did not occur on holidays. Now, for all holidays that fall on a weekday (Monday-Friday), collections will occur on the day of the holiday if that is your normally scheduled collection day. For 2010, only Thanksgiving was affected. If your collection day falls on the day of a weekday holiday, your items will be collected on that day regardless of it being a holiday.

Placement for safe, efficient collection:
Place trash carts, recycling carts and other bulk waste in designated collection area at least 3 feet away from each other, mailboxes, gas meters, fences, parked cars, overhead obstacles and other items.
According to City Ordinance, residential waste must be placed at the location designated by the City (front or back curbside) no earlier than 6 p.m. of the evening before and no later than 6:30 a.m. of the collection day. Do not block or impede a street or alley right-of-way, water or gas meter, drainage ditch, or sight triangle at an intersection or sidewalk. Improperly placed or blocked waste will not be collected.
Containers must be removed from curbside no later than 9 a.m. the day following collection. Residents who do not remove containers after collection are violating City Ordinances. Please report suspected code violations to Community Services at 972-466-3060.
The City of Carrollton does not provide trash or recycling collection services to commercial customers.

Apartment ServiceApartment Service
Apartment facilities are required by City ordinance to use City-provided trash collection service. The City of Carrollton has contracted with Waste Management, 972-315-5400 or 800-772-8653, for this service. This service does not include recycling; therefore, each apartment facility may provide recycling in whatever manor that best accommodates their tenants. If you are a Carrollton resident living in an apartment* complex, contact the apartment management office to inquire about recycling at your complex. Waste Management does offer recycling programs to apartment management for the entire complex based on needs and logistics. If interested, apartment managers may call Waste Management Customer Service at 972-315-5400 or 800-772-8653, to receive an individualized program and quote.
*The term "apartment" is based on a City ordinance definition of "dwelling unit" and includes some assisted residences.
