The Carrollton Police Department Crime Prevention Unit offers many types of services designed to reduce crime and increase safety and quality of life for our citizens. Through raising awareness and safety and crime prevention education, the Crime Prevention Unit helps citizens take an active role in making Carrollton a safe place to live, work and play. Crime Prevention Unit programs include: community presentations, prevention education, Carrollton Citizens Patrol, Carrollton Citizen Police Academy, Community Programs, Commercial and Residential Security Surveys, Child Seat Inspections, Neighborhood Crime Watch, and many others. Crime Prevention Unit officers are certified Crime Prevention Specialists through the Texas Crime Prevention Association and also certified to perform child safety seat inspections. The Crime Prevention Unit is supported by a network of citizen volunteers who assist the department in an important capacity.
