City of Carrollton Responds to Inclement Weather
Inclement weather has arrived, and the City of Carrollton is taking action. Sanding trucks are on the roads, placing sand at known areas of trouble and responding to calls from citizens through the Resolution Center (972-466-3000) or Police (972-466-3333). Public Works is currently only targeting these known problem areas since winds are blowing snow flurries around, making sand less effective. De-icer will be used when necessary, as a liquid agent is only good to -5 degrees with wind chill, therefore temperatures are being monitored. 24-7 operations will be in effect tonight through tomorrow morning, but everyone is asked to take precautions on the roads.
Severe weather (snow, ice, high winds, etc.) may necessitate the temporary closure of City of Carrollton leisure service facilities. During adverse weather conditions, the public is advised to limit driving to minimize accidents, falls and other weather-related incidents. To comply with public safety advisories, the following leisure services facilities may be closed:
Crosby Recreation Center 972-466-9810
Rosemeade Recreation Center 972-466-9800
Oak Creek Tennis Center 972-466-6389
