Posted Date: 4/15/2015 7:00 AM

The work on the east side of the I-35E bridge over Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road is scheduled to be completed in April and mainlane traffic will be shifted back to its regular configuration.

Throughout April, concrete columns and bent caps will continue to be placed for the new I-35E bridge over Belt Line Road. Work will continue on the temporary southbound frontage road through that area.

Work on the waterlines in the downtown Carrollton area near Belt Line Road will begin in late April requiring nightly closures of Broadway Road in that area.

Northbound mainlane traffic will be shifted toward the median at Valley View Lane mid-April to allow work widening that bridge.

In April, mainlane traffic shift to the middle near the intersection of I-35E and I-635E to permit the widening of the interstates at that location. The far northern section of Harry Hines Boulevard, which runs underneath I-35E, will be closed nightly for work on the I-35E bridges over the road.

Construction Limits Route 400 Bus Stops Along Belt Line Road
Passengers are advised of ongoing construction along Belt Line Road in Carrollton that will restrict DART service in the area for next 18 months or more. The project is taking place on both sides of Belt Line between Hutton Drive and Jackson Street and prevents DART buses from stopping to board or drop off passengers anywhere between the two locations. Route 400 service will continue to connect with the DART Green Line at Downtown Carrollton Station, but will otherwise operate non-stop between Jackson and Hutton.

Various lane closures on the north- and southbound I-35E frontage roads between Belt Line Road and north of I-635 will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through Sunday, August 30.

Various lane closures on the north- and southbound I-35E frontage roads between Main Street and Valley View Lane will be closed daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday, August 30.

Daily Lane Reduction of the Southbound I-35E Frontage Road Between Crosby Road and Valwood Parkway in Farmers Branch

Interstate 35E HOV Lanes Permanently Closed
The I-35E north and southbound high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes between FM 3040/Round Grove Road in Lewisville and to I-635 in Dallas are permanently closed.

35Express will feature a pair of reversible managed toll lanes that will take the place of HOV lanes. The managed lanes will be reversed each day to handle southbound traffic in the morning, and northbound traffic in the evening. The goal of the managed lanes will be to ease congestion and keep traffic flowing at an average rate of 50 mph along the corridor.

On average, nearly 7,000 vehicles per day use this five-mile stretch of HOV lanes. For more information on lane closures or the 35Express Project, visit 35Express.org, or call 214-483-7777.
