Construction Limits Route 400 Bus Stops Along Belt Line Road
Passengers are advised of ongoing construction along Belt Line Road in Carrollton that will restrict DART service in the area for next 18 months or more. The project is taking place on both sides of Belt Line between Hutton Drive and Jackson Street and prevents DART buses from stopping to board or drop off passengers anywhere between the two locations. Route 400 service will continue to connect with the DART Green Line at Downtown Carrollton Station, but will otherwise operate non-stop between Jackson and Hutton.
New Traffic Configuration at Belt Line Road
Various Lane Closures along I-35E in Carrollton
Crews will periodically close east- and westbound Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road under I-35E at the frontage road nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Sunday, Nov. 9. Detours are as follows:
Interstate 35E HOV Lanes Permanently Closed
The I-35E north and southbound high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes between Sandy Lake Road/Whitlock Lane in Carrollton and to I-635 in Dallas are permanently closed.
U-Turn Lane at Valwood Parkway and Interstate 35E Closed Through Late 2014
The U-turn lane at Valwood Parkway from the northbound I-35E frontage road to the southbound I-35E frontage road will be closed through November 2014. Motorists will need to turn left from the signalized intersection to access the southbound I-35E frontage road.Traffic on the southbound I-35E frontage road between Whitlock Lane and Luna Road will shift to the west beginning Thursday, September 11 at 9 p.m. This shift is expected to last through late 2014.
Once finished, 35Express will feature a pair of reversible managed toll lanes that will take the place of HOV lanes. The managed lanes will be reversed each day to handle southbound traffic in the morning, and northbound traffic in the evening. The goal of the managed lanes will be to ease congestion and keep traffic flowing at an average rate of 50 mph along the corridor.
On average, nearly 7,000 vehicles per day use this five-mile stretch of HOV lanes. For more information on lane closures or the 35Express Project, visit www.35Express.org, or call 214-483-7777.
