35Express Hosts Business Owner Information Meeting

35Express will host the South Segment information meeting for business owners on South Segment Friday, August 28 at 9 a.m. All Carrollton and Farmers Branch business owners and managers are invited to attend the meeting at C2 Café (1101 South Broadway Street) to learn more about the project and ask questions.

As crews continue to work on the new southbound mainlane bridge, the southbound frontage road between College Street and Belt Line Road will shift to the west.

Crews continue to widen the existing bridges at Harry Hines Boulevard by installing drill shafts, columns and bridge decking. Ongoing miscellaneous lane closures will take place during the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through October.

In order to repair bridge joints, southbound mainlane traffic at Valley View Lane will shift to the center of the bridge in early August. Southbound traffic will return to its original alignment in late August.

The Southbound Valwood Parkway exit ramp will be closed in late August for approximately one month.

Motorists will continue to experience miscellaneous north- and southbound frontage road closures near Valwood Parkway. Full nightly intersection and daily lane closures underneath I-35E on Valwood Parkway will allow crews to finish widening the southbound mainlane bridge in August. ?

Traffic using the southbound Crosby Road entrance ramp will shift slightly south into its final alignment. The northbound exit ramp at Crosby Road will also experience a shift, moving slightly north. As crews prepare for these changes, miscellaneous north- and southbound frontage road closures will occur during the day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and at night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. ?

South of Main Street, crews recently reduced traffic on the southbound frontage road to a single lane and shifted traffic to flow over the bridge at Hutton Branch Creek channel (between Main Street and Crosby Road). Another shift will follow in mid-August, with the second lane on the frontage road reopening and the southbound Belt Line entrance ramp closing through 2017.

Southbound frontage road traffic will experience nightly detours south of Belt Line in August as crews begins setting beams at the Belt Line overpass.

Flagging operations will be in effect on north- and southbound Broadway Street between Trinity Mills Road and Ismaili Center Circle nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, July 13 through Thursday, August 13.

Harry Hines Boulevard, underneath I-35E, will continue to be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. through September.

The southbound Valwood Parkway exit ramp will be closed in late August for approximately one month. To access Valwood Parkway, motorists will continue south to the Valley View Lane exit and use the U-turn to access the northbound frontage road.

The southbound Belt Line entrance ramp will close in August. Motorists will enter southbound I-35E at the Crosby entrance ramp. This closure will last through mid-2017.

Crews will perform rolling lane closures along north and southbound I-35E between Royal Lane in Dallas and U.S. 380 in Denton daily from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. and nightly from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. now through Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The Main Street closure underneath I-35E is ongoing; crews are performing utility work in a joint trench. This portion of Main Street is expected to reopen Tuesday, September 1.

As work continues on the reconstruction of the Belt Line Road and Interstate 35E interchange, a new traffic pattern is now in place. East and westbound Belt Line Road between Denton Drive and Hutton Road will be shifted south and reduced to two traffic lanes in each direction. Belt Line Road will have two lanes in each direction through mid-2017. Due to this traffic pattern change, eastbound motorists wishing to access the RaceTrac gas station will use Broadway Street.

The 35Express project will reconstruct the intersection at Belt Line Road and I-35E. Once complete, Belt Line Road will be elevated to the current height of I-35E and I-35E will be raised approximately 25 feet higher than its current elevation. Construction in this area is expected to last through mid-2017.

This work is related to the 35Express project, an expansion of I-35E between U.S. Highway 380 in Denton County and I-635 in Dallas County. All closures are subject to weather conditions and may be postponed, if necessary.
