Nightly Closures of East and Westbound Valley View Lane Near I-35E Scheduled

East and westbound Valley View Lane underneath I-35E will be closed from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Tuesday, Sept. 30. Traffic will detoured as follows:

  • Eastbound Valley View traffic will be directed to the southbound I-35E frontage road, turn left on Harry Hines, turn left on the northbound I-35E frontage road and back to eastbound Valley View Lane.
  • Westbound traffic will be directed to travel down the northbound I-35E frontage road to Valwood Parkway, turn left at Valwood Parkway to the northbound I-35E frontage road. Travel down the northbound I-35E frontage road to westbound Valley View Lane.

Nightly Closures of East and Westbound Valwood Parkway Near I-35E Scheduled

  • East and westbound Valwood Parkway underneath I-35E will close from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 17 through Friday, Oct. 10.
  • Nightly Lane Reductions on the Southbound I-35E Frontage Road Between Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road and Valley View Lane in Carrollton

The following frontage roads will be reduced to one lane from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. on the following dates:

  • The southbound I-35E frontage road between Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road and Luna Road through Monday, Sept. 22.
  • The southbound I-35E frontage road between Luna and Belt Line Roads through Sunday, Sept. 24.
  • The southbound I-35E frontage road between Havenhurst Street and Valley View Lane through Tuesday, Sept. 30.
  • Nightly Lane Reductions of East and Westbound Belt Line Road near I-35E in Carrollton
    Various lanes of east and westbound Belt Line Road near I-35E will close nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Tuesday, Sept. 30. One eastbound lane and one westbound will remain open to traffic.

Final Segment of Northbound Interstate 35E HOV Lanes in Carrollton and Lewisville to Permanently Close

The northbound I-35E HOV lanes from Sandy Lake Road/Whitlock Lane to FM 3040/Round Grove Road will permanently close Friday, Sept. 12 at 9 p.m.

Construction Limits Route 400 Bus Stops Along Belt Line Road
Passengers are advised of ongoing construction along Belt Line Road in Carrollton that will restrict DART service in the area for next 18 months or more. The project is taking place on both sides of Belt Line between Hutton Drive and Jackson Street and prevents DART buses from stopping to board or drop off passengers anywhere between the two locations. Route 400 service will continue to connect with the DART Green Line at Downtown Carrollton Station, but will otherwise operate non-stop between Jackson and Hutton.

New Traffic Configuration at Belt Line Road

  • East - and westbound Belt Line Road will be reduced to two lanes in each direction between Denton Drive and Hutton Drive through late 2014.
  • U-Turn Lanes at Valley View Lane and Interstate 35E Closed Through Late 2014
  • The U-Turn lanes on the north- and southbound I-35E frontage roads at Valley View Lane will be closed through December 2014. During the closure, crews will construct the center bridge support structure for the expansion of the Valley View Lane bridge.
  • Overnight Closures Scheduled for East and Westbound Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road in Carrollton
  • East and westbound Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road underneath I-35E will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 18 through Friday, Oct. 3. Traffic will be detoured as follows:
  • Westbound Whitlock Lane traffic will be detoured onto the north frontage road to Frankford Road and back around to the southbound frontage road.
  • Eastbound Sandy Lake Road traffic will be detoured onto the south frontage road to College Street and back around to the northbound frontage road.

Various Lane Closures along I-35E in Carrollton
Various north and southbound main lanes between Valley View Lane and Sandy Lake Road/Whitlock Lane will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Sunday, Oct.5.

  • East- and Westbound Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road in Carrollton Scheduled to Close at the Interstate 35E Frontage Road

Crews will periodically close east- and westbound Whitlock Lane/Sandy Lake Road under I-35E at the frontage road nightly from 9 p.m. until 6 a.m. through Sunday, Nov. 9. Detours are as follows:

  • Westbound Whitlock Lane traffic will be detoured onto the north frontage road to Frankford Road and back around to the southbound frontage road.
  • Eastbound Sandy Lake Road traffic will be detoured onto the south frontage road to College Street and back around to the northbound frontage road.

Interstate 35E HOV Lanes Permanently Closed
The I-35E north and southbound high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes between Sandy Lake Road/Whitlock Lane in Carrollton and to I-635 in Dallas are permanently closed.

U-Turn Lane at Valwood Parkway and Interstate 35E Closed Through Late 2014
The U-turn lane at Valwood Parkway from the northbound I-35E frontage road to the southbound I-35E frontage road will be closed through November 2014. Motorists will need to turn left from the signalized intersection to access the southbound I-35E frontage road.Traffic on the southbound I-35E frontage road between Whitlock Lane and Luna Road will shift to the west beginning Thursday, September 11 at 9 p.m. This shift is expected to last through late 2014.

Once finished, 35Express will feature a pair of reversible managed toll lanes that will take the place of HOV lanes. The managed lanes will be reversed each day to handle southbound traffic in the morning, and northbound traffic in the evening. The goal of the managed lanes will be to ease congestion and keep traffic flowing at an average rate of 50 mph along the corridor.
