City of Carrollton Partnered with Habitat for Humanity; Looking to Grow Momentum

On Saturday, December 14, the City of Carrollton worked in conjunction with Dallas Habitat’s A Brush with Kindness Program to provide home repair to 2418 Briarwood Lane, located in Rhoton Park Neighborhood. Repairs included siding replacement, soffit replacement, and painting. A Brush with Kindness is Dallas Area Habitat’s home repair program that provides exterior repairs for existing low-income homeowners who reside in neighborhoods where Dallas Habitat is building new homes. The program provides a way for existing homeowners to participate in the transformation of their neighborhood. In addition to City volunteers, St. Andrews Christian Church acted as the volunteer group for this project. The City of Carrollton is looking for businesses, church groups, and individuals who would like to help grow this momentum and partner with the City to help with painting and construction for more volunteer home repair projects. For more information, contact Tanya Ferencak, Sr. Community Development Specialist, at 972-466-5742.
