While we never know what challenges might lie ahead for our own community, we must hope for the best, but be prepared for the worst. The City has recently launched a new Emergency Management twitter feed @CarrolltonEM. This account will be used ONLY for emergency management preparedness and safety announcements. It is primarily expected to be used for weather emergencies, as a means of explaining why and when our outdoor warning sirens may be sounding. The sirens are tested the first Wednesday of every month at 1 pm. and are sounded when there is an immediate danger from tornado warning, national security threat, or environmental hazard/threat. If you hear a siren, go indoors and take cover.
Times like these also remind us to emphasize the importance of reporting suspicious activity to the proper local law enforcement authorities, in the proper manner. Download the free tip411 app for iPhone and Android. Or text CARROLLTONPD and your message to 847411 (tip411) to submit an anonymous tip. Follow the Carrollton Police Department on Facebook at CarrolltonTXPD or @CarrolltonTXPD on Twitter.
