Arrest Totals Released for 2012 Holiday DWI Enforcement

The joint DWI enforcement effort consisting of officers from Carrollton, Coppell, and the Texas Department of Public Safety has released its final arrest totals for the 2012 holiday season.

The enforcement period between November 15, 2012 and January 05, 2013 resulted in 160 arrests broken down as follows: 
    85 - Driving While Intoxicated – Misdemeanor B 
    21 - Driving While Intoxicated – Misdemeanor A (2nd offense) 
    11 - Driving While Intoxicated – Felony 3 (3rd offense or more) 
    17 - Driving While Intoxicated – (B but enhanced penalty due to open container present) 
    22 - Driving While Intoxicated – Misdemeanor A (blood alcohol content over 0.15) 
    4 - Driving While Intoxicated – State Jail Felony (with child passenger)

According to Assistant Chief Mark Dant of the Carrollton Police Department, “The arrest numbers highlight that driving while intoxicated continues to be a problem. We will continue to be proactive in DWI enforcement efforts and will arrest any drivers that are found to be driving impaired.”
