Rosemeade Rec. Center Expansion Grand Opening Oct. 20

Carrollton, Texas – A grand opening ceremony will be held Saturday, October 20 at 9:00 a.m. for the City of Carrollton’s Rosemeade Recreation Center new expansion (1330 E. Rosemeade Parkway). The Mayor and City Council will officiate the event with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and will kick off the event by pedaling, walking or running on the new state of the art cardio equipment.

Refreshments and giveaways will be available. Personal Trainers and staff will tour attendees through the new addition and be able to answer questions on the new equipment and facility. The facility will be free to guests for the entire day.

The expansion includes 6,088 square feet of new space, 21 new pieces of cardio equipment, and a replacement of weight machines and free weights. Design of this project was initiated in February, 2011 and the construction concluded in August, 2012, three months ahead of the original target schedule. Construction cost was approximately $1.42 million, 6% below budget.

Carrollton will be the first installation in Texas for Precor’s new Discovery Series Strength Equipment, a strength line machine committed to performance and designed to result is an exceptional workout experience for the first-time user or seasoned athlete. There will also be two Helix machines, which are lateral trainers that work the body side to side, two extremely interactive Expresso bikes that allow users to take different tours that are loaded on the bike, as well as race their friends and even post their times on Facebook.

The additional cardio equipment includes treadmills, elliptical machines, adapted motion trainers, upright and recumbent bikes. Each new machine includes individual touch screen consoles where you can plug in your iPhone, watch television, view equipment tutorials and choose from many different pre-loaded workouts. Additionally, each piece incorporates a large, easy-to-see text-free illustrational placard that demonstrates correct form and muscle usage at a glance.
