Carrollton PD now has an online crime map called RAIDS Online that maps and analyzes crime data, alerts Carrollton citizens about crimes in their area, and allows the Carrollton Police Department to quickly alert the public about crimes as they occur.

Birds that often precede egret nesting have been sighted in Carrollton this week and City staff have begun efforts to encourage them to relocate, especially in neighborhoods near Josey Lane north of Frankford Road. Be aware that these efforts may be loud.

Applications are now being accepted for food and craft vendors to participate in Carrollton's Fourth Annual Festival at the Switchyard, an outdoor event to be held Saturday, November 2.

Carrollton Emergency Management is currently working with Dallas County to create a Hazard Mitigation Action Plan for the City. The Carrollton City Council selected Councilmembers Kevin Falconer as Mayor Pro Tem and Bob Garza as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem at the Tuesday, June 11 Council meeting.

Carrollton residents interested in building in-ground or above ground tornado/safe rooms are now eligible to qualify for the Metro Safe Room Rebate Program.

Mr. Chad Jameson, Maintenance Crew Leader III for the City of Carrollton Public Works Water Utilities Division, has received the Richard Ridings Community Involvement Award from the Texas Chapter of the American Public Works Association.

Carrollton has been awarded the 2013 Public Works Project of the Year Award by the Texas Public Works Association (TPWA) in the division of projects “$2 million, but less than $5 million” for the environment category. The award is for the Furneaux Creek 5 Channel Improvement Project.
