Free Homestead How-To Day at Perry Museum – Sept. 21

Texana Living History Association - Making butterDrop by the A.W. Perry Museum (1509 N. Perry Road) on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for a free Homestead How-To Day. Bring back a little bit of traditional do-it-yourself know how, resourcefulness, and simplicity into your busy, modern life. Learn about the many ways people are returning to homestading in a modern way, whether it’s a hobby or a part-time business. Topics to explore will include keeping bees, goats, and chickens; organic farming and community gardening; and making your own soaps and candles. Local “experts” will answer questions and share their personal experiences. There will be a make-and-take station for creating your own natural cleaning supplies using tried and true methods and simple ingredients.
