Why a Teen Advisory Committee?

photo of teens

The Parks & Recreation Department values our teen users and recognizes they are an important part of our community. Teenagers visit our recreation centers to play sports, play games and hang out with friends. We currently offer programs and activities for teens but we want to create an atmosphere that better fits their wants and needs. As a result, we’re forming a Teen Advisory Committee that will work with our staff to create a teen-friendly recreation center. We need the help of young leaders like you!

What does the Teen Advisory Committee do?

They work with staff to create and implement fun and innovative programs. By sharing your ideas, you can even help make YOUR program happen at the recreation center!

They keep staff posted on popular issues and trends to keep the programs current and appealing. Tell us what’s hot, what’s not, and what’s buzzing at your school.

Where does the group meet?

The Teen Advisory Committee meets at Crosby Recreation Center, 1610 E. Crosby Road

When does the group meet?

The Teen Advisory Committee meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The committee will meet September through May each year.

Who makes up the group?

You! Anyone between the ages of 13-17 who lives in Carrollton or attends school in Carrollton can apply. You don’t need a recreation center membership, but we’d love it if you had one.

How do I apply?

Click here for an application, fill out and return to either recreation center. Be sure to tell your friends to apply, too! Click here to view a flyer.
