Jan Baker has been a certified Jazzercise franchisee since 1989. She is CPR certified and receives updates in training through Jazzercise Inc. Bowmen Sports Camps and Clinics
Nick has been involved with summer sports camps and clinics for eight years and has experience as a coach, head coach, director and owner.
He is the varsity women's head basketball coach at Westlake Academy and has coached there for six years where he's had 180 career wins. They are the 2010 State Champions and Nick was named the TCAF 2010 Coach of the Year. His teams have earned five regional championships and have been district champs six years running at both the JV and Varsity levels. As a guest coach at the University of Kansas Summer Basketball Camp, he coached 800 kids at a single week-long camp. Nick has also coached football, baseball and soccer at Junior High, Junior Varsity and Varsity levels. Hundreds of players each summer take the summer Bowmen camps.
The goal at Bowmen Sports Camps and Clinics is to get children excited about sports! Hitting golf balls or shooting lay-ups, learning the rules is just a small part of the process. They have hundreds of drills and skills sets that are super fun and keep players in the game. They want them to leave with a healthy appreciation for team sports while in a fun, active and positive environment.

Sifu Chris Bouguyon began his studies of martial arts at age 12, with a passion that has led him to train in 16 different styles with many great masters over the past 28 years. Sifu Chris is a full time instructor for Simply Aware, holding classes across the greater Dallas area for ages 5 to 95.

Meredith Buckley attended Texas Woman's University and is passionate about teaching children and allowing them to grow and learn at their own pace. She has incredible patience and enjoys helping children develop a love of learning. She has experience working in daycare facilities, as well as homeschooling her five children. Other experience includes coaching a recreational youth cheerleading squad for three years, coaching a youth basketball team and teaching children's classes at her church.
All Stars classes encourage a love of learning while preparing children for kindergarten. Students learn to recognize letters and learn their sounds, write their names, read sight words and begin to read. Children also participate in circle time, calendar, science, math, geography and gym time. These classes allow children to develop social skills and make new friends. Preschool Math classes focus exclusively on math skills such as counting, one-to-one correspondence, number recognition, categorizing, patterns, shapes, graphing and measuring. Skills are taught through active play, fun games, role-playing real life situations and a book of the day. You won't find any flash cards or math worksheets in this class. Preschool Science classes promote curiosity and help develop beginning science skills, such as observing, measuring, predicting and classifying. Children learn to form hypotheses and then try out their ideas. Each topic includes a book, hands-on activities and real science experiments.

Michael has a passion for learning and connecting with families through LEGO. ROCKET SCIENCE was formed to share that passion and connect with others who enjoy playtime with LEGO. He has taken
playtime and enhanced it by introducing simple engineering techniques and principles into a child’s world at a level understood by children and adults alike. The art of combining the fun of LEGO with education intrigued Michael and it helps keep him motivated to create and inspire new curriculums.
Michael has over 10 years of retail experience in the toy industry. Working for a national toy company helped Michael nurture his love for children, toys and education. His life long goal of having a career in
toys was sealed when he connected his passion for LEGO with his love for the industry. He enjoyed the camaraderie the toy store environment offered and took the opportunity to provide that atmosphere to
individuals. Michael has seen children with social and emotional challenges engage and interact while exploring LEGO under his direction. The joy seen on a students face when they see the “LEGO Man” (something he is commonly called by his students) brings warmth to Michael’s heart.
Michael was born in the Dallas metroplex and serves his community through outreaches and church involvement. His wife and two daughters support his love for LEGO and the vision to increase expressive

Joanna graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the University of North Texas and is certified in Pilates. Swami Dev Singh Khalsa
Swami Dev Singh Khalsa began practicing Kundalini Yoga under the guidance of Indian Master Yogi Bhajan in 1974 and began teaching in 1976. Keyboard & Music
Amir Khan is a professional composer and music educator with over 20 years experience as a recording artist and 10 years experience teaching music in a variety of positions. His recording works have been published by EMI International, Far East Peach (Japan) and Indie labels. In 2009, Amir completed advanced digital music production course from Berklee College of Music. Amir has been managing the keyboard/piano training program at the Coppell Aquatic & Recreation center since 2009. In 2011, Amir has introduced the keyboard/piano program at the Crosby Recreation Center in Carrollton and Community Activity Center in Flower Mound.
In addition to teaching piano/keyboard, Amir teaches digital audio workstation, music production and sound engineering. Currently, Amir has over 30 students ranging from ages 5 years to 55 years, from beginners to advanced levels. Amir also holds an MBA in marketing from De La Salle University.
Keyboard/piano program is a beginner program geared primarily towards children ages 5-14 years. Piano/keyboard is an ideal first musical instrument for children of any age. Being one of the easiest instruments to learn, children love the idea to instantly play simple songs. Brett, USPTA Pro 1, has over 25 years playing and teaching experience. He is a former nationally ranked junior. After years away from the game, Brett returned to the game to play Div-1 collegiate tennis and compete professionally on the satellite tour. As a player, Brett won two Southern Sectional Championships. In addition to being a former collegiate head coach, he has extensive knowledge teaching players of all levels. Brett has served as the Director of Tennis at OCTC since 2009 and is the former head coach of Carrollton Christian Academy. Several of his students have gone on to earn college tennis scholarships and compete professionally.

Don has both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Biology, Chemistry and Education with experience in health, fitness and nutrition education since 1981. His advanced fitness and cycling training is from the Cooper Institute in Dallas. He has been the Indoor Cycling instructor and personal trainer for the Rosemeade Rec Center for over six years. Don is an active outdoor cyclist and rides continuously during the spring, summer and fall. He owns Health and Fitness Consulting in Carrollton, is a guest speaker at selected events, and regularly writes articles on health, fitness, and nutrition.

Mr. Nakaya graduated from the university of Takushoku in Tokyo, Japan (BA), holds a master degree from the late Chozo Nakama in Okinawa, Japan (Karatedo). He has been teaching at our recreation center since 1975 and is the author of Karatedo History and Philosophy.

Tom has 20 years of experience in the health and fitness industry. He has provided fitness consultation for several companies including Mary Kay Cosmetics, Computer Associates, American Airlines, Sabre Holdings, and Experian. He managed the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) regional Dallas/Ft. Worth fitness center for 13 years. He oversaw the operation, provided exercise prescriptions, fitness assessments, weight loss and nutritional consultation and coordinated health fairs.
Tom earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from Eastern Michigan University. He has a Personal Trainer Specialist certification and a Special Populations certification from the Cooper Clinic. He possesses a Primary Group Exercise certification from the Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA). He is also CPR/AED certified.

Trevor Parks first got involved in martial arts training in 1993 while serving in the United States Air Force. After a few years of initial karate training Trevor got involved in other various complimentary martial art styles such as Aikido and Judo to help expand his martial arts foundation and core knowledge. Trevor spends most of his martial arts training utilizing the most practical aspects of the traditional core style as well as implementing various complimentary techniques to help strengthen the mind and body. Trevor has spent a several years studying the latest in modern science in anything related to health and fitness as a way of better living through science, and he shares this knowledge with all of his students. Trevor has several hobbies keeping him busy in his other spare time such as motocross racing, triathlon racing, and playing poker whenever he gets the chance. Trevor’s day job is a network security and martial arts is what he uses to help keep his life balanced. Trevor is currently a 3rd Dan within the World Matsubayashi-Ryu Karate Association.

PJ has been dancing from a young age, in a variety of styles.She took her first Zumba class in 2009 and loved it so much that she became a certified Zumba fitness instructor in 2012. She is delighted to share her passion with others and believes tha being fit should be fun! She also holds a group fitness instructor certification from the American Councile on Exercise (ACE) and looks forward to helping others achieve their fitness goals. Her journey began in 2002 with a dance background ranging from dance and drill, collegiate dance teams, summer camps, professional auditions, collegiate fine arts performances and more. Shadae enjoys teaching Modern, Broadway and Stylistic Jazz, Dance/Drill Team and Hip Hop. I’ve been involved in the sport of boxing for over 20 years. Growing up in Southern California, a hot bed for boxing since the early 80’s, I was exposed to a lot of great trainers and very good sparring.
I started training boxers around 10 years ago and began taking on a personal training clientele shortly after. Boxing is a great workout for men and women, no matter what your current fitness level is. I moved to Dallas just over a year ago and picked up where I left off; training local boxers, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone looking to change up their tired old routine.

In her 25 years in the field of health and wellness, she has had multiple articles and columns published in local newspapers and magazines and continue to be available for public speaking events. Samantha conducts the Body Blast Class at the Carrollton Senior on Tuesdays and Thursdays focusing on building a stronger core through intensive strength training. Kerry Stallo, CEO of Age-Intercept, Inc., joins the Personal Training Staff with twenty-nine years of experience. Her background includes corporate business experience and a lifetime of health and wellness pursuits to work with clients of all ages and fitness levels.
After receiving an Economics degree and Sociology minor from Virginia Tech, Kerry spent 25 years in the corporate world while pursuing yoga, marathon running, golf, endurance cycling, Nutrition, and Anti-Aging research as hobbies. In 2006, she followed her passion and started the education and certification process to launch her Health and Wellness company, Age-Intercept, Inc., in 2008.
Kerry is certified as a personal trainer from NASM, the National Academy of Sports Medicine. Kerry’s clients are safely progressed through the OPT (Optimal Performance Training) model regardless of their goals or starting level of fitness to ensure injury free training. Each client moves through Joint Stabilization and Strength Development Stages of their Individualized program. Athletes may progress to the Power stage if Speed, Agility and Quickness training is desired. Programs are designed based on general lifestyle, medical, and physical performance assessment information obtained from the initial consultation. The client's goals are then combined with the assessment information and Fitness programs are developed that are both workable and manageable for the client’s long term success!

Sidonya found her passion for Belly Dance in 1997. An award winning dancer, Sidonya is known for her flirty, audience encompassing and captivating grace on stage. She can be found performing regularly in the DFW area at Byblos and Villa Mediterranean Grill. Kenneth Tan has over 10 years of passion and love in painting and drawing – Oil, Acrylic, Charcoal and Pastel, specialize in Mixed Media. Art has inspired him to look at life with full enthusiasm. His motivation and passion enable him to work with all ages of individuals to discover their creative side. Kenneth also enjoy learning, exchanging ideas and inspiration in art that allows him to connect with others to explore the art worlds.
Painting and drawing in Charcoal, Pastel and Acrylic allows any individual to discover their inner appreciation of art. It allows them to create art work with freedom yet develop skills throughout the class. Students find passion in art and discover their desire and strong will of creation. Mike has been involved with boxing for the better part of 55 years. As a fighter he fought three times at the famed Madison Square Garden, has been a trainer, a coach and cornerman. Mike has been the head instructor of the Tuff Time Boxing/Cardio program with the City of Carrollton for 8 years.
Mike has trained fighters in Texas and New York, on the amateur level as well as pros. He served in the Military for 23 years and did a tour of duty in Vietnam. He was on the Military Boxing Team for 8 years and won many titles. Mike's father was a pro in the late 40's and early 50's and his son (dubbed the Italian Stallion) was ranked no. 2 in the country in 2006. Mike had brought many fighters to the Texas Golden Gloves and many of them, including females, have won Championships.
Boxing is a fine sport, and it's also a great way to get in shape. Boxing is a full body workout from head to toe. If you want to get in shape, male or female, regardless of age, drop by the class for a super workout.

Classes help moms have safer, shorter deliveries, healthier babies, and better physical shape before and after pregnancy. Classes with baby encourage mother/baby bonding and provide a fun and convenient way to work out with baby by your side. Preschool Dance: Children learn basic ballet and terminology, are exposed to many music genres, engage in use of props and instruments, learn about rhythm, all while getting a great workout with their peers in a nurturing environment. Yoga: Students will focus on the athletic aspects of yoga--working on strengthening and toning, while developing mental focus and physical strength. Super abs and Legs: Students in this class will get what the name claims - a great workout of abs and legs, helping to shape and tone both areas through a variety of techniques, including hand weights, interval work, aerobics, floor/mat work, as well as elements of Pilates and ballet. All done with a mix of fun, current music.

There is a lot of conflicting information about exercise and fitness out there to confuse people. Being able to sort through all that and achieve goals is what Christopher will focus on with you. A certified trainer since 2003, he has previously been certified by ACE, and now carries an ACT card along with CPR/AED. He's worked as a personal trainer, group fitness instructor and yoga instructor at Rutgers University. There his duties encompassed everything from VO2 Max testing, to metabolic rate analysis, to sports specific training several of the intramural and club teams. During this time, he also competed at the state level on Team NJ, an Olympic Lifting Team in North/Central New Jersey. As a member of the team, he was fortunate enough to be able to spend a week training at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. In the intervening years, he has trained at several gyms and in private sessions covering a variety of topics including abdominals/core training, aerospace fitness, bodybuilding, myofascial release, Olympic weightlifting, power/strength, sport specific/agility, stretching, flexibility, and weight loss.
Even with the popularity of boot camps nationwide and high intensity home workout programs, Christopher firmly believes that people can also benefit from slower paced workouts. He wants to ensure that all of his clients understand why they're doing particular exercises and how it affects their body as a whole. The result is a calm but very intense session, packed with information that's been customized for the client's interests, activities and abilities.
Overall, he hopes each of his clients goes away feeling a little bit stronger, not just physically, but emotionally. After all, achieving goals is a great feeling!
